Since that announcement, excitement has only grown. MAPPA has already unveiled the first teaser trailer, giving viewers an early look at several of the arc’s biggest battles, while industry events, including Anime Expo, have become the latest source of speculation as fans look for fresh production updates. Although an official release date remains under wraps, Season 4 appears to be moving steadily through production.

The First Teaser Gives Fans Their Best Look Yet At Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4

The latest Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 teaser focuses heavily on the escalating Culling Game, showcasing brief glimpses of several anticipated confrontations without revealing the outcomes. Particular attention is given to Kinji Hakari, Hajime Kashimo, Kenjaku, Choso, and Yuta Okkotsu, all of whom are expected to play much larger roles than they did during the first half of the arc.

Rather than introducing entirely new footage for marketing purposes, the trailer focuses on the increasingly chaotic nature of the Culling Game. Its release also reassured fans that the project is actively moving through production despite MAPPA’s busy slate of upcoming anime.

The Culling Game Continues With Higher Stakes

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 will directly continue the events of the Culling Game, a deadly experiment orchestrated by Kenjaku, who operates using Suguru Geto’s body. The arc forces sorcerers and cursed users into a survival tournament where points, kills, and strategy determine who lives or dies. The first half of this arc wrapped in Season 3.

Key characters, including Yuji Itadori, Yuta Okkotsu, Megumi Fushiguro, and Maki Zen’in, are all deeply involved in dismantling the game. Their ultimate goal is to stop Kenjaku’s plan and protect Tengen, whose existence is critical to the balance of the jujutsu world. Season 4 is expected to cover the most intense confrontations yet.

Unlike previous arcs, the second half of the Culling Game shifts between several different battlefields, allowing multiple characters to take center stage. While Yuji Itadori is still the main character of the series, upcoming episodes will likely focus more on Yuta Okkotsu, Kinji Hakari, Choso, Maki Zen’in, and several newly introduced sorcerers whose abilities dramatically reshape the conflict.

Manga readers already know that this stretch of the story features some of Gege Akutami’s most creative power systems and longest fights. During MAPPA’s anniversary celebration, the studio surprised viewers by releasing the first teaser trailer for Season 4, offering nearly a minute of new footage rather than a simple announcement video.

The teaser highlights several upcoming fights while confirming that production is well underway. Although trailers do not always indicate an imminent release, many fans viewed the amount of completed animation as an encouraging sign that MAPPA has already made substantial progress on the new season.

Industry observers currently view 2027 as the most realistic release window. Previous television seasons have generally been separated by roughly two years, and Season 4 is adapting the second half of an already established arc rather than launching an entirely new storyline. Until MAPPA or TOHO Animation confirms a premiere window. However, any release timing remains speculation.

Despite these unknowns, fan reception to Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 has been overwhelmingly positive. The finale, in particular, drew strong reactions online for its animation quality and faithful adaptation of major manga moments. This positive momentum gives Season 4 a strong foundation heading into its production cycle.
