If you carry an older ArkFeld, the iUltra, or a tiny I1R 2 Pro, you know why OLIGHT is one of the best. There’s a reason people call them the “Apple of flashlights,” and the new OLIGHT ArkPro Ultra is no exception. It has a floodlight, spotlight, UV, and a laser, and is a better, brighter, do-it-all flashlight I can easily recommend.

OLIGHT improves on what it does best
Brighter, stronger, and with USB-C charging
While many flashlights focus on raw power or portability, OLIGHT is known for combining the best of everything into one easy-to-carry flashlight. If you’re new to the brand, they make some of the best EDC (everyday carry) flashlights with premium designs, excellent features, and a solid user interface, all in a sleek form factor. And that’s especially true with models like the ArkPro, which uses a flat anti-roll design that’s more comfortable in your pocket.
The latest OLIGHT ArkPro Ultra takes everything the company learned from the ArkFeld and the ArkPro, along with the ArkFeld Ultra, and keeps the winning strategy of excellent controls and solid output, then makes everything a bit better.
The end result is a premium, durable, flat EDC 4-in-1 flashlight that does it all. You’re getting a 1,700 lumen floodlight with a wide throw, an 800 lumen spotlight good for over 200 meters, a powerful UV blue light (365nm) with a ZWB2 filter, and a two-stage green laser pointer—all in one pocketable 2x stronger unibody O-aluminum design. It delivers premium durability and versatile performance without added bulk.
If you’re coming from older models, the two most notable changes are USB-C charging (in addition to the older magnetic charging base), a dedicated spotlight, higher lumen output, and, for some, a bigger battery.
I had no idea that I wanted a floodlight and spotlight in one tool, but now that I do, it’s great. I love having four different lighting options that work in 7 total configurations, including multiple outputs running simultaneously, and USB-C charging is a game-changer.
However, those with the OLIGHT ArkPro likely won’t see too many reasons to upgrade. It’s simply a slightly better model that bumps the lumens from 1,500 to 1,700, and an upgrade from standard 6061 aluminum to OLIGHT’s proprietary OAL aluminum, which is 2x stronger. Additionally, the ArkPro Ultra features an exclusive “ArcBeat” long-term usage indicator that glows in different colors to tell you how many hours you have used the light over its lifespan. That’s neat, and the extra output is welcome, but the Ultra is $20 more.
Either way, the ArkPro Ultra delivers a new top-of-the-line flashlight that fans will love.
Build quality remains excellent
The O-aluminum feels great
As I mentioned near the top, many consider OLIGHT the Apple of flashlights. Everything about the product is excellent, from the packaging and build quality to the intuitive controls and easy charging. OLIGHT thinks of everything, and that’s a big part of the reason they’re so successful.
The build quality is absolutely excellent, and better than my old ArkFeld. It feels durable and robust in the hand, and there’s no rattling thanks to the built-in internal battery. Sure, that means you can’t replace it later, and that sucks, but USB-C charging and a sleek frame are the silver linings.
The OAL aluminum is 2x stronger, and I feel like it will handle work conditions, drops, accidental throws down a mountain, outdoor use, and anything else with ease. It’s tough.
ArkPro Ultra controls, switch, and indicators
The UI is largely the same, and that’s a good thing
OLIGHT’s controls remain a strong point, even if they’re a bit confusing the first time you buy one. But once you’re familiar with the rotating dial switch to control the flood, spot, or UV, taps for brightness changes, or the dedicated laser button to the side, you’ll feel right at home. For anyone who already owns any OLIGHT with this layout, not much has changed.
But yes, you read that right. The Ultra has a second dedicated button on the side for the green laser. One press turns it on; a long press switches between Class 1 and Class 3R. When it’s off, you can press and hold for on-demand use, and it’ll turn off once you let go.
Overall, I’m a huge fan of the Ark controls, the toggle switch to choose flood, spot, or UV light, and the side laser button. My only real complaint is the lack of memory when switching between brightness levels.
For example, there’s an extremely dim “moonlight” mode for a tiny bit of light, and you can toggle between brightness levels with the center button, including medium, high, and turbo. And yes, it’ll remember which spotlight or flood setting you’re using, at least for a few minutes. Tomorrow it’ll be back to the default, which is set to medium. I’d love a true memory.
I also really like the indicator lights, and there are now four of them inside the ArkPro Ultra control dial. There’s a green 4-stage battery LED, a white 4-stage brightness indicator, lock mode, and Arkbeat.
The battery and brightness indicators are four discrete LEDs to the left and right of the main power switch. It’s easy to understand at a glance, and that’s the point. I’d be fine with just the battery indicators, as the brightness isn’t all that necessary.
Then, if you press and hold the middle switch for 3+ seconds, it’ll lock the entire flashlight to prevent accidental turn-ons. You’ll see a small lock icon above the button when it’s locked. I love this, and it’s great for traveling.
And finally, there’s a new “Arkbeat” OLIGHT logo below the switch and dial. Every time you use the flashlight, it’ll turn on and eventually glow different colors depending on how long you’ve used it. It’ll change 7 different colors to show lifespan and usage. It’s nothing but a gimmick, since it’ll eventually reset back to white, but maybe someone could appreciate it when buying used.
The perfect EDC flashlight
Plenty bright, super durable, and the laser is great
While I’m not a huge flashlight enthusiast, I do own 4 OLIGHT’s now, and this is by far my favorite. I try not to get into the nitty-gritty with beam patterns, color temperature, flood regulation, and all that jazz. The temps are fine, the flood beam is nice and wide, and the spotlight works great in such a small package.
My only real complaint is a somewhat low CRI (Color Rendering Index). It measures how accurately a light source reveals the true colors of objects compared to natural sunlight, and could be a little better, but that’s also a matter of personal preference.
I will say that, as expected, using some of the higher-brightness modes will certainly make things hot, but that’s par for the course with small carry lights that deliver this much output. If you use it long enough, don’t touch the front glass.
For daily use, this is a fantastic flashlight that you’ll love. It’s easy to carry, feels great in the hand, gets plenty bright, and the UV and lasers are just a bonus. The magnetic base makes it great for attaching to my truck hood while changing an oil or air filter, too.
Should you buy the OLIGHT ArkPro Ultra?
If you’re in the market for a new light to replace an older ArkFeld or Baton, or have never tried OLIGHT but want a premium light better than anything you’re used to, the OLIGHT ArkPro Ultra is easy to recommend. I absolutely love mine.
Whether you’re on the job, working on cars, camping, or just carrying it around daily, it’ll more than get the job done. It checks all the boxes, fits great in my jeans, and is always ready to go when I need it. It’ll charge to full in just over 90 minutes, too, which is plenty fast.
The ArkPro Ultra is an expensive flashlight, but you get what you pay for. I’m talking about build quality, ergonomics, four different beams, solid switches, a durable two-way belt clip, and two charging options for what’s arguably the best flashlight you’ll ever carry.
