New Evangelion Unit-02 Seiko Watch Gets International Release, Limited to 400 Pieces

Neon Genesis Evangelion has always had a wide representation in the world of merchandise, and over the past few years, this has included both casual and luxury watches. Now, a new timepiece has been crafted for the legendary mecha franchise.

Watch company Seiko has produced a brand-new Evangelion watch, and it’s based on its iconic Diver’s watches. Of course, the anime branding is very obvious, from the colors to the hands of the piece. While pre-orders are now open for its release right before the end of the year, there’s a limited number of watches being made, making now the perfect “time” for Evangelion fans to secure their own.

Evangelion’s New Seiko Watch Is Based on Asuka’s Unit-02 Mecha

As part of the Radio EVA lifestyle brand, the Seiko A347 EVA-02 Diver’s Watch combines artistic luxury with one of the most iconic anime franchises of all time. As the name suggests, it’s based on the EVA Unit-02 mecha that’s piloted by Asuka, with this obvious through the red coloring that resembles the mech.

The model itself is derived from Seiko’s legendary Diver’s watches, which debuted decades ago back in 1995. Ironically, this was just 30 years before the original Neon Genesis Evangelion anime aired, so the 2026 watch is a belated anniversary item for both brands.

Besides the coloring, the head of the Unit-02 unit rests at the 12 o’clock position, while the mecha’s green eyes inspire the glow-in-the-dark decoration for the 2, 4, 8 and 10 o’clock positions. Meanwhile, the second hand is based on the Spear of Longinus.

The honeycomb pattern on the watch’s face matches the similar design element seen throughout the Neon Genesis Evangelion, while a silicone band, with a width of 22 mm, provides a sporty look while still coinciding with the plated stainless steel case and hardlex glass. The caliber is 4R36, with an accuracy of +45 seconds to -35 seconds per day and power reserve lasting around 41 hours when fully wound.

Unfortunately, while it’s built to last, the chance to purchase it isn’t. The A347 EVA-02 Diver’s Watch will be limited to only 400 pieces, so fans should order theirs now to ensure that they get one when the pieces ship out in December 2026. They can do so through the official online EVA Store for 132,000 yen (around US$813), which ships internationally via Buyee.

This is also just one of many recent Evangelion watches, showcasing how the brand’s popularity has garnered numerous luxury lifestyle items over the years.
