Fans of Hello Kitty and Friends’ Sanrio can officially channel their inner Cinnamoroll for their next gaming session thanks to Razer’s latest themed peripheral.
As seen in a recent X (formerly Twitter) post from the official Razer social media page, the final entry in the hit gaming brand’s ongoing Sanrio collaboration has finally arrived in the form of the Razer Kraken Kitty V2 BT — Cinnamoroll Edition. The new headset features Cinnamoroll’s iconic floppy ears, and is tinted with the iconic pup’s signature light blue hue.
Razer’s Final Sanrio Collaboration Release Is Pitch Perfect for Cinnamoroll Fans
The official product description from Razer reads, “Unleash your killer kitty style anywhere with the Razer Kraken Kitty V2 BT — a wireless Bluetooth headset for gaming and IRL streaming. Powered by Razer Chroma RGB, display your unique personality for all to see, as you take your passion to the next level with a full suite of upgraded features.”
The Cinnamoroll Edition of the Razer Kraken Kitty V2 BT headset is currently available for $139.99, $40 more than the standard white, black and quartz editions of the headset, but only $10 more than the Kuromi Edition headset. Gamers can also order their headset along with Cinnamoroll Editions of the Razer Cobra mouse, Razer Ornata V3 Tenkeyless keyboard, Razer Iskur V2 X NewGen gaming chair and Razer Kraken V4 X headset for those in need of the occasional wired audio experience.
As much as the Razer and Sanrio collaboration might surprise some gamers, it comes as just the latest in a long line of recent titles and releases that have reestablished the latter brand’s place in the world of video games. Over the past few years, Hello Kitty and her fellow Sanrio mascot characters have taken center stage in titles such as Hello Kitty Island Adventure and Hello Kitty and Friends Freeze Tage Party, which continue to boast firm player bases of their own.
Sanrio also isn’t slowing down any time soon, with multiple upcoming titles ranging from the fast-paced Sanrio Characters Smash Festa! to the decidedly cozier Sanrio Party Land slated to make major waves in the months to come. Meanwhile, the long-awaited Hello Kitty feature film from Warner Bros. Animation, New Line Cinema and FlynnPictureCo. is currently slated to arrive in theaters in early 2028.
Surprisingly, there was a period of time in which the success of Hello Kitty in North America was anything but assured. AnimeEigo co-founder Robert Woodland recently opened up about the company’s initial trajectory as a distributor, noting, “When we started doing the live-action samurai films… there was no real track record for those kinds of films in the commercial market [in the United States]… Felt a little more risky than perhaps it was. The Hello Kitty educational videos, Natsumi [Ueki] thought it had more commercial potential than I did.”
“I just thought it was such a hilarious idea… There were a bunch of these short Hello Kitty films that were done, which were all educational videos, like ‘how to play with your friends,’ ‘why you shouldn’t mess around with daddy’s computer’ or ‘how to behave at a restaurant.’ They were just so cute.” Woodhead added, “One of the most interesting things was the culture clash between Sanrio in Japan and Sanrio in the U.S. Because we licensed the stuff from Sanrio in Japan, and Sanrio in the U.S. had… um, some concerns.”
