The voice of Hatsune Miku has been around for nearly 20 years, with the Vocaloid singer usually using her talents to belt out all kinds of digitized tunes. Now, fans can hear her every day as she becomes an integral part of their cell phones’ software.
Crypton Future Media, Inc., the creator of Hatsune Miku, has released a new app on the iTunes Store based around the character. This allows users to receive different notifications that use her voice, and there are even options for different languages. Fans who can’t get enough of her can now hear her all day for important reminders, making every day tasks a lot more stylish.
Hatsune Miku Becomes the Voice of the Latest iPhone App
The new “Hatsune Miku Notification Voice” app is more than just a cheap way to slap Miku’s name on a new product, and it’s actually an excellent method of staying on top of tasks with the Vocaloid’s help. In this case, it delivers four types of audio notifications, alerting the app user to general alarms, timers, incoming calls and new emails.
Thus, no matter what’s going on with someone’s phone, there’s an easy way to find out while also hearing Miku’s high-pitched voice. In fact, it doesn’t matter if the phone’s owner understands Japanese or English, as both voice options can be purchased. The Hatsune Miku Notification Voice mobile app can be purchased and downloaded from the App Store for 255 yen (about US$2).
This comes after similarly exciting news that also involves the character’s notable voice. On April 14, 2026, the Hatsune Miku V6 voicebank was released, the newest version of the digitized singing software. This coincided with a North American tour celebrating Miku, with a European tour in the works for the last part of the year.
These events and the new version of the software come one year before the 20th anniversary of Miku herself, who debuted as Crypton’s first Vocaloid singer back in 2007. Since then, the digital star and her compatriots have sung several songs, be they remixes of popular radio hits and anime themes or original tunes that have become incredibly popular in their own right.
The new iTunes app is far from the only Hatsune Miku-themed software out there, with the character appearing in several video games on just as many platforms. These include the recent Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds (which reunites her with characters and franchises she’s previously crossed over with) and other mobile video game titles centered solely on the various Crypton Media Vocaloids.
That’s along with just as many toys, dolls and Miku collectibles, which have helped to popularize the character among the anime and anime-adjacent fandom. Now, those with Miku in their games and Miku toys on their shelves can also have her words on their phones, helping them get ready for the day and stay on top of every important alert.
