Gundam SEED’s Most Iconic Mecha Transforms Into a Real Honda Ride

Defining the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise in the 2000s, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED remains incredibly popular, with its mecha and characters just as iconic as those in the Universal Century. Now, one of these iconic designs is being translated into a real-life machine worthy of a Coordinator.

Bandai Namco and Honda have now unveiled the Gundam SEED x Honda collaboration scooter, which is based on the latter’s NS125FX 125cc model. Inspired by one of the main mecha from the Cosmic Era, fans can ride it and channel their inner Kira Yamato. While still in the prototype stage, it’s expected to start rolling out in China sometime soon.

Gundam SEED’s Newest ‘Model’ Isn’t a Gunpla Model Kit

Showcased at the recent BilibiliWorld 2026 in Shanghai, China, the Gundam SEED x Honda NS125FX 125cc gas-powered scooter is easily the coolest way for mecha fans to ride in style. Several branded elements showcase the franchise it’s based on, with the scooter particularly meant to evoke the Freedom Gundam piloted by protagonist Kira Yamato.

This extends to the “ET101” and “FREEDOM GUNDAM” decals, which match the colors of Kira’s mech. Even the red part of the steering column evokes a Gundam mecha, all while being just as eye-catching to those who aren’t aware of its anime origins.

Unfortunately for Gundam fans across the world, the few details about the scooter leave them out of the loop. The Gundam SEED x Honda NS125FX 125cc is scheduled to be a China-exclusive release as of writing, while the release window and how much it will cost both remain to be seen.

However, it does clearly show how prominent Gundam SEED has remained within the franchise since it debuted in the early 2000s. Beginning the Cosmic Era timeline, the original Mobile Suit Gundam SEED anime was regarded by many as a thematic and spiritual retelling of the 1979 Gundam anime.

It went on to receive a sequel anime and an anime film, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, which is currently the highest-grossing movie in the franchise. A prequel, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO, is also planned.
