Aegir Extreme Mode and Solo Mode Adjustments

Aegir Extreme Mode and Solo Mode Adjustments

It’s hard to believe that it has been almost two years since Tier 4 was officially released in Amazon Games and Smilegate’s Lost Ark. This was a huge step for the MMORPG, bigger than anything the west had seen as Amazon sped through the first two tiers to reach Tier 3 quickly.

Shortly after, players received the first big raid content in the form of Act 1: Earth-Shattering Hellfire. This saw the return of Akkan, but introduced a fierce new being called Aegir. Well, it looks like Aegir has returned in the latest update, along with various quality-of-life improvements and events.

To keep players engaged with new content, Aegir Extreme mode will be making its western debut. Like past extreme modes, this will place players in the final gate of the original raid but rework it ever so slightly to ensure that it’s new enough to give long-time players a challenge. At the same time, it will give those who never really did the raid near launch the same sort of challenge.

For example, there will be no revives as it once was. While there’s only one gate, there will be three different difficulties along with various rewards tied to them:

  • Normal (1720+): 20,000 Gold + 150 Coin of Fire and Ice
  • Hard (1750+): 45,000 Gold + 200 Coin of Fire and Ice
  • Nightmare (1770+): 45,000 Gold + 200 Coin of Fire and Ice + “Lord of Hellfire” Title

The coins obtained from the raid can be crafted into various other rewards, such as a Relic Engraving Selector.

Solo Mode and Matchmaking

While Aegir is an exciting piece of content, the Solo Mode adjustments are without doubt the best thing for the game as a whole. For starters, both Act 4: Fortress of Destruction and Denouement: The Final Day are both getting their own Solo Mode variants.

This is great for endgame players and new players as it allows players to progress without having to rely on party finder, and it ensures more Solo Coins will be handed out to players to buy even more items from the Solo Shop.

In addition, the recent raid Serca, the Witch of Agony, will be getting its own solo variant in the form of Matchmaking Mode. This will be a completely new feature that hopefully will be iterated upon in the future.

For starters, anyone at ilevel 1710 is able to access it, and it’s done through the Matchmaking button that is generally never used outside Guardian Raids. You will be able to enter this solo if necessary, and is adjusted accordingly depending on how many players go in (up to four).

There will be infinite revives, although they will still use Phoenix Plumes), and best yet, there is no fail state. If a raid wipe does happen, the raid will continue with everyone being able to revive. Unfortunately, players are still in a race against the clock as the boss will recover some of its health if it goes berserk.

The rewards will be the same as normal mode, except for no loot auction or Sidereal Energy drops. There will even be a stacking buff over time for parties of four, upwards of 200% Attack Power.

Paradise Season 4

With the conclusion of Season 3, Amazon and Smilegate wanted to get the next season out as quickly as possible, but unfortunately, there is a little controversy. For starters, this season will last the longest it will ever have, going from July 15 until February 3 of next year. That’s a staggering seven months, although it ensures there are fewer breaks like this in-between seasons and a greater chance for characters to max out their systems.

On top of that, Hell is getting the addition of a “falling point.” This is a new system that, after every 10 floors, you will be given a chance to gamble once more. A coin flip, if you will, one that will either give you a guaranteed long jump, or actually send you back an unknown number of floors.

Finally, there’s a “Lucky Reward” added if you’re fortunate, or unfortunate, to receive the same three rolls in a row.

Other Content

  • Summer Night Festival Island
  • Summer Gift 1 and 2
  • Summer Cosmetics added to the Shop
  • Adjustments to the Mokoko Buff Enhancement
  • Ability to set specific card sets based on a boss’ weakness
  • Astrogem can now be automatically optimized and dismantled.
  • Various difficulty adjustments to the Denouement raid, mostly in Hard Mode.

The latest patch is available starting July 15 for anyone who has Lost Ark installed.
