Black Clover Officially Sets Up New Release After Manga Conclusion

Black Clover is a shonen story by Yuki Tabata that tells the story of Asta, a boy born with no mana in a world filled with magic. Black Clover was once a very popular story, serializing in the same magazine that hosts stories like One Piece, Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, and others, but because of repeated breaks stemming from the creator’s health issues, it saw a plethora of hiatuses, leading to the story taking a huge hit.

The Black Clover manga is officially concluding its run on August 4, 2026, with the release of Volume #38. Immediately after, the anime is ready to sweep in and take over the world. Black Clover Season 2 closes in on its October 2026 release, and now, we have a new key visual featuring the main trio of the story in their ultimate forms in the latest release of the franchise.

Black Clover Reveals Brand New Key Visual For Season 2

Black Clover Officially Sets Up New Release After Manga Conclusion

Black Clover debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #15 on February 16, 2015. This story was created by Japanese mangaka Yuki Tabata, and while it had a good run in the magazine, the serialization was moved to the seasonal magazine Jump GIGA on December 25, 2023, due to the author’s inability to keep up with a weekly schedule. This meant that Black Clover would only release a few chapters a year, and that slowed down serialization drastically. With all that being said, on April 30, 2026, Tabata finally concluded the story with chapter 392. This was a huge moment for the manga, and it opened up the gate for the anime to finally finish the story in its own medium. The anime previously went on a hiatus in 2021 due to the lack of manga content, but 2026 is the year it returns.

Studio Pierrot previously announced the return of the anime officially on December 21, 2025, at Jump Festa 2026, with a new teaser. Excitement has been growing since, and with the anime approaching its return with Black Clover Season 2, we received a brand new visual by Studio Pierrot on July 2, 2026.

This new visual features the three main Black Clover characters — Asta, Yuno, and Noelle. What’s especially eye-catching is their appearance. All three characters are in their powerful forms. Asta takes on his Devil Union form, while Yuno taps into his Spirit Dive, and Noelle turns into Valkyrie Dress. This is a hint to the exciting battles that are to come in Black Clover Season 2, where they will need to use their ultimate powers.

Black Clover’s return is now closer than ever before. Following the long and tedious hiatus, we know when Black Clover’s next adaptation, titled ‘Season 2,’ is returning. Black Clover Season 2 is officially releasing in October 2026, which is just a couple of months away. We don’t know the exact release date yet, but new information will be revealed soon enough, perhaps at Anime Expo, where the series is holding its own stage.

With that being said, some fans might get access to the first Black Clover episode sooner than the rest of us. Anime Expo 2026 has already begun, and fans attending today, on July 4, 2026, can watch Black Clover’s early screening. Specifically, Black Clover Season 2 Episode 1 will be shown live to the attendees. Fans attending should head between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM Pacific Time (PT) to the Peacock Theater to watch this new episode before everyone else. This could be a great way for them to assess the quality of what Studio Pierrot is planning to deliver before the official global release.

Black Clover was once a massive shonen series with a huge fan base. In terms of popularity, it was once on the same level as My Hero Academia at one point, it. This has long since changed, however, with the hiatuses endured by the manga and anime. However, the revival of the story is finally setting things right.

The Black Clover manga returned in full force in April, and even now, we’re expecting more content. On August 4, 2026, Black Clover will release the final volume, which will give us one more chapter to wrap up the story properly. The anime will also be a huge hit and help the series sales-wise. While the original Black Clover anime was a weaker production, the return with Season 2 looks a lot more promising with a huge quality upgrade.

Black Clover Season 2 will be available to stream on Crunchyroll.
