Naruto‘s latest animated release has brought back the fight between Sasuke and Itachi with improved visuals almost two decades after it originally aired.
Tencent’s Naruto Mobile game has debuted a brand-new animated intro video for Sasuke Uchiha’s “Brother’s Battle” version of the character, who is scheduled to join the game’s roster on July 10. The intro video depicts the battle between the Uchiha brothers with modern CGI action sequences and slick taijutsu moves.
“Facing his brother in the final battle, he seeks to personally put an end to the obsession that has long weighed on his heart,” the description reads. The video begins by showing Sasuke as a child, who is in awe of his brother, before his feelings change after watching Itachi murder his parents. It then transitions into their face-off from Shippuden, ending with Sasuke firing up his Kirin attack to strike Itachi.
Naruto Mobile Releases Sasuke vs. Itachi Fight With Modern Animation
The animated sequence features the original Japanese voice actors from the Naruto anime series, with Noriaki Sugiyama voicing Sasuke, Hideo Ishikawa voicing Itachi and Nao Toyama voicing young Sasuke. The character’s in-game musical theme is confirmed to be “I Lived to Defeat You,” which pairs well with Sasuke’s revenge-filled journey in the anime to take down his older brother.
The final face-off between Sasuke and Itachi from Naruto: Shippuden, which originally aired in November 2009, is widely regarded as one of the best fights in the series. After deserting the Hidden Leaf Village and training under the rogue ninja Orochimaru, Sasuke tracked down his brother to execute his revenge — only to learn that the massacre of the Uchiha clan was orchestrated by Konoha’s leadership, and that Itachi had acted as a double agent to protect both the village and Sasuke.
This is not the first time that Naruto Mobile has recreated the Sasuke versus Itachi fight for a character release. The game had previously animated the starting sequence of the duel in May 2025 to promote the release of the Itachi Uchiha (Susano’o) version of the character.
Sasuke Uchiha’s Brother’s Battle version is designated as the A-Rank character for the month of July and will replace Deidara in the active banner. This version of the character will feature three distinct forms, starting with a base state in his Hebi form as seen in the intro video, alongside his first and second Cursed Mark stages.
The teaser poster for the character shows Sasuke with Cursed Marks spread across his face, while a separate teaser gameplay video highlights him activating his winged second state to attack Itachi. The official gameplay reveal for the combatant will take place on July 4, 2026.
Naruto Mobile is a 2.5D fighting game that allows players to collect and battle as various characters from the franchise, utilizing a side-scrolling format. With regular updates, character rotations and animated promos that often go viral, the game remains highly successful among the user base. It is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
