2026’s Most Tragic Doomed Yuri Is Here And You Don’t Want To Miss Crunchyroll’s Sneak Peek

After months of anticipation surrounding its next major project, Infinite Inc. used Anime Expo 2026 to shine a spotlight on one of its most talked-about upcoming series. While the publisher unveiled several new adaptations during its Los Angeles panel, the biggest surprise came from the world premiere of I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day, a dark fantasy romance that immediately captured the audience’s attention.

The anime received an enthusiastic response following the exclusive screening of its first episode, according to a press release, with attendees also getting a behind-the-scenes look at the production process and brand-new promotional footage. Ahead of its global streaming debut on Crunchyroll on July 7, I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day is already shaping up to be one of the summer’s most intriguing new anime.

Anime Expo Gives Fans Their First Look at a Dark New Yuri Series

Infinite Inc.’s “Stories Made to Last: Infinite Presents Their Next Big Titles” panel on July 2 offered fans an exclusive first screening of Episode 1. Producer Ena Hamabe appeared on stage to discuss the adaptation, sharing how the series immediately stood out because of its striking blend of adorable character designs and grim fantasy themes, which was a contrast she was eager to see brought to animation.

The premiere earned loud applause from the Anime Expo audience, with Hamabe commenting afterward that fans were incredibly enthusiastic throughout the presentation. She also emphasized that viewers do not need to be longtime yuri fans to appreciate the story, describing it as a series capable of appealing to a much wider anime audience through its emotional themes and dramatic setting.

Beyond the episode itself, attendees were treated to storyboard artwork from the promotional video, offering a rare glimpse into the creative process. Infinite also debuted the ending sequence, confirming that the ending theme, “Eternal,” will be performed by sajou no hana. The panel concluded with the release of new key visuals and a lighthearted rock-paper-scissors contest, where one fan walked away with a signed shikishi.

I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day Is A Tragedy Set in a World Built Around Endless War

Unlike many fantasy romance anime series, I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day unfolds inside a school where children are trained as magical weapons for an ongoing war. The protagonist, Sheena, dreams of bringing peace despite living in an environment that teaches students to fight and sacrifice themselves for battle, creating immediate emotional tension.

Her life changes after she encounters Mimi, an immortal child soldier covered in blood yet smiling as though nothing has happened. Rumored to be the school’s ultimate secret weapon, Mimi soon becomes Sheena’s roommate, forcing the compassionate heroine to confront the harsh reality of the conflict surrounding them while slowly developing a complicated emotional connection with the mysterious girl.
