Before the Transformers first rolled out in the 1980s, another franchise practically dominated animation in the West. Now, these two brands are coming together for the latest official collaborative figure, courtesy of Hasbro.
Transformers x Scooby-Doo Mysterious Prime and Automutt combines the iconic vehicle of Mystery Inc. with the power of Primus. Coming complete with a Cybertronian take on a certain Great Dane, it’ll make fans of both brands ready to get jinky with it. Available now for pre-order, it’s a veritable Scooby Snack for any collection.
Hasbro & Hanna-Barbera Roll Out a New Kind of Mystery Machine in New Transformers Toy
As his name might suggest, Mysterious Prime transforms into none other than the Mystery Machine, the iconic van for Mystery, Inc. in the legendary Scooby-Doo! franchise. This is a brand-new mold, with the stocky blockiness of the design fitting perfectly with the retro vibes of the series it’s based on.
Transforming in 19 steps, the toy also has two accessories in robot mode. These are a flashlight and a camera, allowing the robot in disguise to easily capture images of any “monster” Decepticons. There’s even an Autobot symbol under the bumper of the van, letting everyone know the collaborative nature of the toy in this form.
For those wishing to feature every member of Mystery, Inc., Mysterious Prime has four head options, with these based on Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy. In fact, the configuration for Fred adds his classic orange ascot, while Daphne has a similar element that references her green scarf.
Of course, things wouldn’t be complete without a certain dog, and Scooby-Doo has his own Cybertronian equivalent. This is Automutt, with the mold based on the Cassetticons/Recordicons packaged with toys for characters such as Soundwave or Blaster. His beast mode is a robotic Great Dane, complete with Scooby’s cartoonish head. Instead of a cassette, however, he transforms into a box of Scooby Snacks, completing the cross-company branding.
Mysterious Prime and Automutt can now be purchased for $57.99 on sites such as Amazon, with the figures expected to be released by the beginning of September 2026. This is one of several collaborative items that the Transformers franchise has had in the past few years, with other examples involving Naruto, Sonic the Hedgehog and even the National Football League.
