The cast of Final Fantasy 10 is notorious for their terrible clothing, with Seymour and Wakka standing out as representing the worst of designer Tetsuya Nomura’s excesses. The PlayStation 2 was the debut of the needless zips and unnecessary layers of the Final Fantasy franchise, much to the chagrin of cosplayers worldwide, with Tidus acting as the face of the generation.
Tidus Has A New Design In Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy

Tidus hasn’t had many outfits throughout the Final Fantasy franchise, which is why it’s so peculiar seeing him in regular clothing. A new character preview trailer for Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy has announced that Tidus is coming to the game on June 30 and will be sporting a new costume that matches his athletic profession in the world of Spira. In Dissidia Duellum, Tidus wears a jersey, shorts, socks, trainers, and a sweatband, in what is easily his most conventional gear to date.
In Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, Tidus is an Agile fighter type, one who relies on speed and movement to outmaneuver his foes. His iconic moves from Final Fantasy 10 are also here, with Slice & Dice allowing him to swiftly enter melee range, which can be followed up with a ranged Jecht Shot. Those who want to unlock the star player of the Zanarkand Abes can try and pull Tidus from June 30 to July 28.

The main gimmick of Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasyis seeing all the iconic characters from the franchise operating in a contemporary setting while wearing normal clothes to fit in. Sure, the classic outfits are also there for the retro fans, but the new looks are a big part of the appeal.
Tidus isn’t even the first Final Fantasy 10 character to get a redesign in Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, as Rikku is also a playable character, wearing a black top and orange skirt combo that makes her look like she’s going to a nightclub. Hopefully, if Dissidia Duellum keeps getting updates, Yuna and Lulu will join before long.
