Initially released over a decade ago, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is widely regarded as one of the most enjoyable isekai series that the anime world has to offer. After nearly 15 years, the creators of the original light novels are now preparing to end the iconic work.
MF Books — the Japanese publishing label for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation — recently announced that Vol. 4 of the official epilogue sequel, Mushoku Tensei: Redundant Reincarnation, will be released on Nov. 25, 2026, as its final installment.
As detailed on the company’s X (formerly Twitter) page, this volume will finish “weaving the aftermath of the main story” by wrapping up the storylines of individual characters started in Volumes 1-3.
Mushoku Tensei: Redundant Reincarnation Ends With Final Post-Story Collection
Created by Rifujin na Magonote (story) and Shirotaka (art), the original Mushoku Tensei light novel series was initially serialized on the commercial web novel platform Shosetsuka ni Naro from November 2012 to April 2015. Kadokawa’s MF Books began publishing the physical version in January 2014, while its epilogue light novel began publication in June 2023.
To celebrate the series’ long-awaited conclusion, MF Books is releasing a “special edition” of Vol. 4 alongside the standard edition. The former will include a collectible acrylic stand featuring an all-new illustration by Shirotaka. Both versions also introduce the brand-new story “Lucy’s Melancholy,” which revolves around the marriage of the protagonist’s eldest daughter.
The mainline story of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation begins with a nameless, 34-year-old shut-in with no job or friends. One day, he is unceremoniously killed by a passing truck and abruptly reborn as an infant in a sword-and-sorcery-style fantasy world. Additionally, his knowledge and memories from his past life remain intact — a fact that hardens his resolve to make the best of his second chance.
As “Rudeus Greyrat,” the former NEET becomes a highly skilled magic user and a valued tutor to a noble named Eris Boreas Greyrat. Eventually, their peaceful lives are upended when a magical disaster destroys their home nation and forcibly teleports them, along with thousands of others, to distant regions of the kingdom.
Seven Seas Entertainment has been the primary English-language publisher for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and its various spinoff titles since May 2019. In addition to the original light novel series, the company has also licensed Yuka Fujikawa’s official manga adaptation. Seven Seas published the series’ debut volume in October 2024.
The latter publisher describes Redundant Reincarnation on its official site: “…the epic fight may be done, but the story of Jobless Reincarnation is far from over. There’s still Norn’s wedding, Lucie’s first day at school, hunting down marriage partners for Dohga and Isolde and then…is that Ghislaine? Get ready for a bounty of antics and action from the Mushoku Tensei universe as the story continues!”
The North American release date for Mushoku Tensei: Redundant Reincarnation Vol. 4 has not yet been announced.
