For years, Vin Diesel has been one of the most recognizable action stars in the business, largely through his work on major IP-based franchises. Recently, he concluded a nine-year run as Groot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 in 2023. A decade before that, he also got to reprise his role as Richard B. Riddick in a second Riddick movie, which he is also set to come back to in the undated Riddick: Furya movie (currently in post-production).
Most notably, Diesel still remains dedicated to his work on his longest-running franchise, Fast & Furious, which is speeding towards the finish line. After Fast X debuted in 2023, the 11th Fast & Furious movie was confirmed for development in Jan. 2026, eventually being titled Fast Forever and dubbed the final movie in the franchise. While story details are still unconfirmed, Diesel’s saga will finally come to an end after first taking the action world by storm in 2001’s The Fast and the Furious. Now, the franchise’s final stage is starting to come to fruition.
In a video on Instagram, Vin Diesel confirmed that Fast Forever is now officially in production. Giving a quick behind-the-scenes look into filming for the new movie, including a look at his classic black 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, Diesel took a moment to thank the fans for their support and patience through this journey and called them “the best audience in the world” as he gets back to work on what he calls “an amazing finale.” As of writing, there are no details on how long Fast Forever‘s filming schedule will take.
As of writing, Universal Pictures has not confirmed any official story details or cast members for the final Fast & Furious movie. That cast should include stars like Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Sung Kang, and John Cena, all of whom have been part of multiple Fast movies from the last two decades. The last movie also teased the return of two major stars who have not been seen in years: Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs and Gal Gadot’s Gisele Yashar.
As for loose plot threads, both Alan Ritchson’s Aimes and Jason Momoa’s Dante Reyes are in the wind by the end of the movie. Aimes is revealed to be a double-agent working with Reyes after leading The Agency post-Mr. Nobody, and Reyes trapped Dom and his son in a dam in Portugal and triggers a massive explosion, leaving their fate in question. Now, all bets are off on how Dom and his extended family will set things right after this cliffhanger.
Fast Forever is currently in production and will speed into theaters on Mar. 17, 2028.
