Good Smile Company’s more affordable Pop Up Parade figure line has added a familiar (and villainous) face to its roster, as Aura the Guillotine from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is now available to preorder. With Season 2 recently coming to an end and hype for Season 3 already reaching a fever pitch ahead of its October 2027 debut, the popularity of Frieren continues to grow, with Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe’s manga series already going down in history as one of the all-time fantasy greats. Now, fans can add yet another popular character to their shelves.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End began its legendary serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in 2020, during the height of the global pandemic. It became an almost instant phenomenon, thanks in part to its leisurely narrative design, comforting and familiar fantasy setting, and memorable cast, all of which made its way to the small screen when Season 1 of the Frieren anime adaptation began in September 2023. A second season premiered in January 2026 and found equal acclaim, despite its brief 10-episode run. Currently, Frieren sits in the coveted top spot on MAL, boasting an impressive overall score of 9.26. The manga has sold over 35 million copies to date and has snagged several Japanese honors, such as the Kodansha and Shogakukan manga awards.
Good Smile Company Reveals New Pop Up Parade Aura Figure
This week, Good Smile Company took to social media to reveal the newest addition to its affordable Pop Up Parade line: Aura the Guillotine, one of Frieren‘s most memorable villains. Standing approximately 170mm (6.7 inches) in height, the vivid figure features Aura with her signature Scales of Obedience and sword, ready to wield her Auserlese spell to weigh her opponents’ mana. Priced at $42.99, the figure is now available to preorder until July 22, with orders expected to arrive between April 1 and June 30, 2027.
Season 3 of the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End anime adaptation is slated to air in October 2027, and fans can look forward to seeing the massively popular Golden Land Arc brought to life on the small screen. Unfortunately, not all news is positive, as in October 2025, it was confirmed that the Frieren manga would enter an indefinite hiatus. Both Yamada and Abe are currently focusing on their health while figuring out the serialization pace of Frieren‘s story going forward, and no return window has been confirmed.
The Frieren IP has participated in several unique crossovers over the years, and one of the most unexpected is set to kick off on August 21, 2026. The Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka, Japan, will be holding the “Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring: Dutch Masterpieces of the 17th Century” exhibition until September 27, and visitors may be surprised to see Frieren goods being sold at the event. In May, a special crossover image of Frieren as the Girl with a Pearl Earring was posted online, and exclusive merchandise is on the way.

Fantasy anime fans have been left in a vacuum since Frieren Season 2 ended earlier in 2026. Witch Hat Atelier provided a much-needed fantasy hit during the Spring 2026 season, but it too has ended, though a second season was recently confirmed to be in production. Thankfully, the Summer 2026 anime season has plenty to offer for those wanting more from the genre. From Season 3 of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and Skeleton Knight in Another World 2 to newcomers like I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day and The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System, July is already shaping up to be a busy month for the anime community.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
