Persona Reunites Its Most Iconic Heroes With New 30th Anniversary Designs

Debuting 30 years ago on the Sony PlayStation, Atlus’ Persona franchise has cemented its status as Japanese role-playing game royalty. Now, in honor of its three decades of existence, there’s a new series of items that fans can collect, with everyone guaranteed to win something.

The Persona Series 30th Anniversary Ichiban Kuji Lottery is the latest example of the “no-lose” item line, and it features the series’ most notable protagonists. These are, of course, the main characters from the last three games, though a full reveal of the entire line remains to be seen. This comes amid several other Persona collectibles being revealed, along with the next entry in the franchise.

New Ichiban Kuji Line Lets Fans Win Collectibles Based on the Persona Franchise

Regularly releasing lines of toys and collectible items based on various anime and video game franchises, the Ichiban Kuji lottery system is now doing the same for Atlus’ 30-year-old Persona series. This is in celebration of the video game franchise’s 30th anniversary, as reflected in the biggest prize. While the A-level prize, among others, has yet to be revealed, fans do know what the B, C and D-level prizes are.

These are all figures based on the protagonists from Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5, all of which truly catapulted the brand into mainstream stardom. The figures range from six to roughly eight inches in height, with the Persona 3 and Persona 4 heroes each brandishing a blade. Joker, the protagonist from Persona 5, is more extravagantly posed in his Phantom Thief gear and wields the small firearm he uses in the game.

Joker is the D-level prize, with Persona 4‘s hero, Yu, being the C-level prize. The ultimate prize is a massive display piece that celebrates the history of the Atlus brand. Called “PERSONA30th THE GIGANT NAME,” it showcases the main characters from all the Persona games. These include the different protagonists from the Persona 2 duology, as well as the optional female main character (FeMC) from Persona 3 Portable.

The other prizes will be revealed at a later date, with the prize lottery set to run across Japan starting on Nov. 28, 2026, and possibly going throughout the rest of the year. A ticket to the lottery will cost around US$6, and participants are guaranteed to win something, no matter what. As noted, Ichiban Kuji has released similar lines for some of the biggest anime brands of all time, with the Dragon Ball franchise and Berserk being frequent examples.

Persona began with Revelations: Persona, a spinoff of Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei franchise. Replacing apocalyptic takes on Judeo-Christian concepts with more Jungian psychological ones, Persona has since eclipsed its progenitor and is ranked by many as being right up there with fellow JRPG giants such as Final Fantasy.

This success has included manga and anime adaptations, which makes sense given that each game since Persona 3 has essentially been a playable anime. Persona 5 is easily the biggest and most popular entry yet, with new Persona 5 collectibles and merchandise based on the game still being made a decade after it first came out.

In its wake, a remake of Persona 3, titled Persona 3 Reload, was released in 2024, with a similar remake of Persona 4 on the way. Atlus is also now finally moving beyond its biggest success yet, with the first trailer for the upcoming Persona 6 recently revealed for June’s Xbox Games Showcase.
