Among the many wide reveals for the Transformers franchise in 2026, some toys are intended for more exclusive releases. This is the case with a particularly monstrous Autobot that will be available at an upcoming convention based around the brand.
MB-02 Megatooth is a new toy from The Chosen Prime and Fans-Hobby, and it’s exclusive for TFcon Toronto 2026. The release celebrates the event’s 10th anniversary, with only 600 pieces of the toy made in total. Expertly updating a forgotten Generation 1 design, the toy is a must-have for those celebrating the premier Canadian Transformers fan convention.
Transformers Brings Back Repugnus for TFcon With Just 600 Figures Available
MB-02 Megatooth is part of the Master Builder series from The Chosen Prime and Fans-Hobby, with these action figures being somewhat analogous to the official Transformers: Masterpiece collectibles. In this case, Megatooth is a third-party rendition of the G1 Monsterbot, Repugnus.
Introduced as the original toy line was winding down and the classic G1 cartoon had already come to an end, Repugnus and the Monsterbots were destined to become some of the most obscure Autobots in the franchise. Thankfully, he’s now getting a bit of redemption thanks to an updated toy that brings his classic design into the modern day, complete with a premium finish.
As in Generation 1, Repugnus/Megatooth transforms from a robot into a robotic bug-like monster. He has vicious claws and pincers in his beast mode, while in robot mode, he wields a small blaster. His beast mode head can also open up for a flame breath effect.
The overall design is based closely on both the original toy and Repugnus’ brief animated appearance in a latter-day Generation 1 toy commercial. It’s very similar to the Transformers: Titans Return Repugnus toy, but the mold is completely new. There’s also a premium finish on most of the figure, with this mainly seen in the bug mode head, the chest, arms and the lower legs.
Fans who attend TFCon Toronto 2026 from July 10-12 can pick the figure up for CA$200 (just under US$150). While Repugnus and the rest of the Monsterbots might not be the most mainstream Autobots in the franchise, the vicious face of the character has now become the official Fans-Hobby toy for the new franchise convention.
