Celebrate 35 Years of Baki the Grappler With These Rad Tees

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Baki franchise, the Tokyo-based apparel brand HEATTRAP has released some stunning new T-shirts that aren’t only stylish, but incredibly useful during a workout. A true tour de force of the shonen genre, Baki the Grappler has inspired multiple manga sequels and anime adaptations since its initial appearance in Weekly Shonen Champion in 1991. To celebrate three and a half decades of unforgettable brawls, several crossovers and fresh releases have been revealed in 2026, and this particular launch may prove to be a favorite for gym rats.

Baki‘s legacy has persisted in Japan since it debuted 35 years ago, but many fans in the West only discovered the martial arts series through the 2018 Netflix anime adaptation. The release, animated by Undead Unluck and Yowamushi Pedal studio TMS Entertainment, quickly garnered a large audience enamored by its over-the-top action and violence, along with its unforgettable (and somewhat grotesque) art style. While its 3D animation was hit with criticism, its high points were strong enough to build a new generation of Baki fans, and now, those who have fallen in love with Keisuke Itagaki’s magnum opus can show their support with some fresh apparel.

Improve Your Workouts With These New Baki T-Shirts From HEATTRAP

A new collaboration between the Baki franchise and the Japanese sweat-inducing sportswear brand HEATTRAP has been revealed, with fans able to choose from three unique front T-shirt designs. The text translates to “Sweat it out,” and the back of the black shirt features some very impressive muscles. Curiously, HEATTRAP shirts have been dubbed “wearable saunas,” as they stimulate sweat and promote weight loss, making them perfect for a workout session. Available in sizes M, L, XL, or 2XL, the shirt costs ¥8,778 (around $54) and can be purchased from the official online store.

This isn’t the only recent apparel collab to hit store shelves, as in May, the streetwear brand Subciety revealed a collection of five Baki-inspired T-shirts, including Kaoru Hanayama’s legendary stance and memorable illustrations from Chapter 37 of the manga series. The ‘Baki the Grappler Exhibition Osaka 2026′ event was held from April 24 to May 10 to commemorate the series’ auspicious anniversary, with fast food giant McDonald’s also teasing a Japan-exclusive Baki crossover in April, headlined by the ever-popular Chicken Tatsuta sandwich.

Baki remains one of the best-selling manga series of all time, with over 100 million copies sold to date, putting it on the same level as other masterworks like Astro Boy, Fist of the North Star, Hajime no Ippo, and My Hero Academia. Beyond its anime adaptations, Baki has inspired several fighting games, along with two stage plays in Japan. The most recent anime adaptation, Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai, premiered in February 2026.
