Fans of Dio from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure are in luck, as one of the most iconic figures of the antagonist is back on the market after fans demanded its return. Dio Brando acted as the main baddie in the original JoJo universe, and primarily featured in both Phantom Blood and Stardust Crusaders. The character is known for his psychopathic and sociopathic traits, and his ability to be charming when it suits his needs, quickly making him a fan favorite for decades.
Initially published in Weekly Shonen Jump, new chapters of Hirohiko Araki’s long-running manga series are now published in Ultra Jump. The ninth main story arc, The JoJoLands, kicked off in 2023, following Jodio Joestar, an antisocial teenage gangster living in Hawaii whose only goal is to become wildly wealthy, no matter what it takes. While each of JoJo’s story arcs boasts plenty of dedicated fans, Stardust Crusaders remains a highlight, running from 1989 to 1992. The most recent anime adaptation kicked off in 2014 and wowed audiences worldwide, with Jotaro and Dio’s fight going down in history as one of the most epic in the history of the franchise. Now, everyone’s favorite villain is back and ready to take his place on fan’s shelves.

Stunning Dio Figure Back in Stock Due to Fan Demand
After ample fan demand, a stunning Dio figure from the Super Action Statue line produced by Medicos Entertainment is back in stock, with preorders now open. Standing at 160mm (approximately 6.3 inches), the figure comes with three unique head parts, a collection of hand parts, throwing knives, a road sign, and a dedicated articulated display stand. Comprised of high-quality PVC, ABS, and nylon, the Dio figure is currently available at a discount of ¥8,712 (around $54), and is expected to ship at the end of January 2027.
2026 started with a bang for JoJo fans, as the seventh main story arc, Steel Ball Run, began its anime adaptation on Netflix in March, with plans to return this fall. A new announcement will be made on July 4, which may be the release date for the next set of episodes. Set in the USA in the late 1800s, the incredibly popular arc follows Johnny Joestar, a former jockey who is now a paraplegic and hopes to regain the use of his legs, along with Gyro Zeppeli, a former executioner who seeks to save a child on death row. The pair compete in the titular horse race seeking the grand prize of $40 million, but find themselves in trouble after discovering that the race’s sponsor has a hidden agenda.
Over the years, many well-known companies and brands have teamed up with the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series, including the luxury Italian fashion brand Gucci. To celebrate the manga’s 25th anniversary in 2012, a Lawson convenience store in Japan was remodeled to look like the ‘Owson’ store that appears in both Diamond Is Unbreakable and JoJolion, and a special JoJo-themed train also ran in Tokyo around this time. In April, retailer GU released a collection of T-shirts inspired by the recent JoJo anime adaptation.

While JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is his most well-known work, author Hirohiko Araki had one other hit prior to its release. Also gracing the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump from 1984 to 1985, the superhero horror series Baoh followed Ikuro Hashizawa, a young man who is kidnapped and transformed into a terrifying bioweapon with superhuman strength. After escaping, he must contend with the many assassins and monsters sent to retrieve him, while also desperately trying to regain his humanity. Many are hoping that this series returns in some way in the future, potentially with an anime adaptation, though this seems increasingly unlikely.
