Three main Seekers were introduced in the original Transformers cartoon, with these including Starscream and his two main “repaints.” Now, Hasbro is releasing new toys for additional Seekers who were really just animation errors.
The Transformers Studio Series Seeker Storm Pack contains four Decepticon jets, with their color schemes diverging quite a bit from Starscream and company. This marks a notable shift in the direction for Studio Series, which has so far been based mostly on the big screen. It’s also a first for Hasbro in another way, making the most obscure Seekers some of the most important for where the franchise is going.
The Most Underrated Seekers Fly High in New Transformers Studio Series Release
Transformers Studio Series Seeker Storm Pack contains four Decepticon Seeker jets, all of whom debuted in the original 1984 cartoon, The Transformers. Even then, their roles weren’t big, and they were essentially just animation errors that recolored the basic Seeker design for generic cannon fodder soldiers.
Nova Storm and Sunstorm have bright yellow and orange colorations, whereas Acid Storm is green and Ion Storm is blue, heavily resembling Thundercracker but with less gray.
The toys are all redecos of the Thundercracker toy from the Transformers Studio Series figure, which was itself specifically based on his appearance in The Transformers: The Movie. They transform from robots into non-licensed F-15 Eagles, with the vehicle mode missile launchers becoming their Null Ray cannons in robot mode.
Notably, a recent Transformers social media post promoting the four-pack states that it’s “bringing the G1 cartoon into Transformers Studio Series for the very first time.” This showcases the changing scope of the Studio Series figures, which have largely focused either on designs from the various Transformers movies or, to a lesser extent, video games and even comic books.
On top of that, the quartet marks the first made-to-order Transformers item, with only the amount ordered during the 45-day pre-order window being produced. This means the pack won’t be available after that, so fans have from now until Aug. 24, 2026, to order the Transformers Studio Series Seeker Storm Pack on Hasbro Pulse.
Listed for $149.99, the pack is expected to be shipped out in October 2027. This doesn’t take the place of other exclusive Hasbro Pulse Transformers items, but it does represent the best way to release toys for such obscure Decepticons.
